[19794] NORTH KOREA..MILITARY STATIONARY ENVELOPE.. "1973 (Feb 22) Military envelope of the People's Army to the Commander written on 22 Feb from a North Korean soldier in the field & cancelled (3 Mar) cds. ................................................................................................. The Korean war fighting ended on 27 July 1953 & a demilitarised zone was effected but as no peace treaty has ever been signed in law they are still at war with tensions & incursions by both sides into each others territory sometimes resulting in squabbles & fire fights continuing occasionally resulting in casualties and even deaths. .

During the Russo - Japanese War (Feb 1904 - August 1905) with the Russians withdrawing towards Harbin in early March 1905 that marked the end of the land fighting. The Japanese then apparently on 1 April withdrew the Field Post Offices in Korea in favour of using the conventional Japanese Postal System in Korea.

South Korea joined the coalition forces in Vietnam with the first Krean Marines arriving in March 1965 followed in September by the 2nd ROKMC brigade called "The Blue Dragons" on a rotational basis of 4,000 to 5,000 soldiers at any one time time until 1972 when the US forces withdew

On the 7 February 1905 a party of 2 Doctors & 22 Nurses from the 38th RRelief Squad transferred from the H.S. Dairen-Maru to H.S. Kouun-Maru which then made a total of 23 trips Dairen-Yokahama-Tadotsu-Unjina carrying a total of 6653 sick or injured soldiers with the last day of there voyages being 24 January 1906
