On the 3 Nov 1914 the British under Brigadier General Stewart were repulsed at Longido, later that month they were again repulsed at Tanga after which the Germans under Von lettow raided British East Africa & the Uganda Railways contantly until the British invaded through the Taveta gap in March 1916
