WW2 Circa 1943 Photographic picture postcard showing view of school with inset picture of children studying to Tokyo from Hideo Karasawa U 50 (Truk Is) U 88 (4th Port Depot), with crimson framed Military Mail plus Censored hand stamps with latter having orange oval chop of Hiratuka the censoring officer with interesting message that writer has no access radio is isoloated from news & wants a newspaper sent.................................................................................. Truk Is. part of & west of the Caroline Is. with it's natural harbours was one of the main Japanese Naval bases in the South Pacific until Feb 1944 when US Aircraft carrier based planes attacked & destroyed a large quantity of Japanese naval vessels & land based intallations. Mail from Japanese stationed on Truk is rare

Rittman, Palau, Nan Yo Japan & uprated with additional marginal pair 4 sen making 10 sen rate tied vernacular (27 Sep) cds & with blue circular C within circle alongside red Obercommando der Wehrmacht /Eagle Swastika handstamps .............................The Caroline Islands were purchased in 1899 by Germany from Spain. Japan occupied the islands during WW1 & were granted a League of Nations over them in 1920 until the end of WW2 after which they became a Trust Territory of the USA until Independence.....Censored mail from the Japanese period is seldom offered & rare.

In early  1915 Japanese forces captured & occupied the German Colonies in the South Pacific mail is very scarce..................................... Note:- The letter is continuous it is NOT split but is too long for my scanner bed so is done in two halves.
