Untidily opened right side with some paper loss but leaving ½a stamp intact.

Ltd., Egham, Surrey from office at Dar es Salaam refering to whereabouts of Country Life cigarettes ordered for Tabora Internment Camp & paragraph 2 mentions that "the Italians like these cigarettes & price is also an imporant factor" & with on reverse framed Received 3 Jul 1942 with unframed Noted /F.H.R. hand stamps ....... Very unusual item
| BURMA - GB …WW2 LETTER WRITTEN on AIRGRAPH from A/G CONTROLLERS OFFICE .… 1945 (Feb 14) Plain stampless envelope together with letter written on reverse of Airgraph to Leicester from 1116108 Gnr. J.R.V. Taylor S.E.A. C. cancelled Indian F.P.O. 82 (15 Feb) located Nyaungu & with violet circular Unit Censor /D 91 hand stamp. The airgraph to Gnr. Taylor dated 20 Dec 44 from Divisional Controller's Office, Mount Pleasant , London notifes him that a package of 50 Burma cigars he sent to his father has been "Refused due to British Customs Charge of £1. 1. 4." Gnr. J.R.V. Taylor serving with R.H.Q. 129th Fld.Regt. R.A. writes to his father informing him of the airgraph & apologising for sending cigars in the first instance......................
A very unusual item from a scarce location Proud records the only date of use of FPO 82, located at Nyaungu on the west bank of the Irrawaddy river as 25 Feb 45 & by the 8 March it was at Meiktila. This item extends the date of known use & Proud does not price this FPO use at Nyaungu. As a footnote Gnr. Taylor had probably bought the cigars after the battle of Imphal when the Division moved to Ranchi prior to moving into Burma....A rare item
